FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What can I expect at my first visit?

Your first appointment starts with a one-on-one evaluation to understand your goals, movement patterns, and any pain or limitations you’re dealing with. From there, we’ll design a customized treatment plan focused on restoring strength, improving mobility, and helping you get back to the activities you enjoy most.

  • How long will I need physical therapy?

The length of treatment depends on your condition and goals. For an acute injury, most patients see progress within 2–3 weeks. Chronic injuries may take 6–8 weeks, and post-surgical rehab usually lasts 8–12 weeks. Once you’ve completed your main program, we can design a maintenance plan to help you stay strong and prevent future injuries.

  • Will my insurance cover PT or the brace?

We’re a direct care, out-of-network clinic, which means we don’t contract directly with insurance companies. That’s actually a benefit for you: you get one-on-one, hour-long sessions every visit, full price transparency, and no surprise bills months later. Many of our patients still get partial reimbursement, depending on their benefits and deductible. We’ll help you understand what to expect before your first visit.

  • What conditions do you treat?

We treat a wide range of conditions, including joint pain, nerve injuries, mobility limitations, and recovery after surgery or trauma. Many of our patients come to us for complex limb injuries or for specialized care while using advanced braces like the ExoSym. Whether your goal is walking without pain, improving athletic performance, or returning to everyday activities, we’ll help you get there safely and effectively. A full list of services we offer can be found here.

  • What is a dynamic brace (like the ExoSym), and who benefits from it?

The ExoSym (also known as the IDEO brace) is a custom-made dynamic orthosis designed to help people regain strength, mobility, and confidence after serious lower-limb injuries. It’s especially effective for conditions like foot drop, nerve damage, ankle fusions, arthritis, and recovery from trauma. Because it’s an active, high-performance device, success depends on training and commitment. You have to put in the work to get the most from it.

  • What is POSE Running, and how does it help?

POSE Running is a movement technique developed by Dr. Nicholas Romanov to make running more efficient and less stressful on your joints. It focuses on three key phases—Pose, Fall, and Pull—using gravity and body alignment to create smoother, more natural movement. The result: better form, improved speed, and fewer injuries for runners of all levels.

  • How soon will I feel better, and will the improvement last?

You’ll start noticing changes in mobility or pain relief within a few sessions, depending on your condition and consistency with home exercises. Before returning to high-intensity activity, it’s important to ensure you’re pain-free, moving correctly, and maintaining strong core stability. We’ll help you tell the difference between normal soreness and true pain so you can stay active safely and build lasting results.

  • How do I get started?

Getting started is simple: Just schedule an evaluation online or give us a call. We’ll answer your questions, review your insurance benefits, and find a time that works for you. From there, we’ll get to work helping you move better, feel stronger, and live with less pain.
